Description
This office intends to competitively award a FFP price type contract for six EA heavy armored sedans to include driver's training on a FOB origin, contractor's plant, basis. Vehicles shall be assembled as an integral armor structural component design. Armoring shall be performed during assembly line manufacturing of the vehicle. After market, up-armoring of the vehicle is not acceptable. Minimum ballistic protection shall be IAW testing procedures utilized by the Bundeskriminalamt(BKA)and U.S.testing certification procedures. Vehicles must conform to current Department of State (DOS) specifications and standards for explosive, blast and small arms protection. Vehicles are for overseas use and shall be indigenous for use in the European Theater and shall be maintainable by designated manufacturer's 's workshops world wide especially the European Theater. The vehicles will have been subjected to explosives testing as conducted by the Department of State and will be certified as meeting the Department of State explosive protection standards. Only those opaque and transparent armor materials tested by an armor test laboratory (e.g. H.P. White; Beschussamt Mellrichstadt or Beschussamt Ulm, Germany) and having received certification as having met the armor material standard articulated by the U.S. Department of State shall be used in the special protected vehicle fabrication (no armor material substitution is authorized, unless tested and certified). Desired delivery time is hundred and eighty (180) DARO or earlier, however, time of delivery shall be no longer than two hundred and ten (210) DARO. Anticipated issue date of the RFQ is 28 May 01. Procurement is being conducted IAW requirements of FAR Part 13, Subpart 13.5 and FAR Part 12. Interested parties may request a copy of the SOL from the above named POC(email/fax).
