Description

The U.S. Department of State is anticipating awarding a purchase order on June 13, 2001 through December 31, 2001 for continuation of a maintenance agreement for the client/server portion of COHO software to Avue Technologies, 1142 Broadway Plaza, Suite 400, Tacoma, Washington 98402. The COHO product was introduced in 1998 as a commercial off the shelf software package to automate the classification process of Federal Government positions. The U.S. Department of State selected COHO due to its overall unique capabilities in the classification process. Other commercial products have been evaluated to include CORE_DOC which has similar capabilities, but does not fit the requirements that meet the Department's unique needs in its client/server environment. CORE_DOC would require a high degree of a learning curve and does not function effectively in the NT operating environment within the U.S. Department of State. In order for the U.S. Department of State to continue to process all newly classified positions in an efficient manner, the COHO software application must continue to be utilized. See Note 22 *****
