Description

The U.S. EPA, National Risk Management Research Laboratory intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Molkaenke a Toximeter Daphnia Biomonitor under the authority FAR 6.302-1. The Daphnia Toximeter@ Biometer Biomonitor is engineered, supported, and fabricated by BBE is the only early warning biomontor of its type that provide the type of early warning biomonitoring system that will satisfy the EPA requirements. (1) Monitor must observe living daphnia under the influence of running water. (2) Sample water should run continously at a range rate between 0.5 -- 2.0 Liters per minute. (3) Daphnia monitoring and observation criteria must have speed monitoring and measurements,behavior monitoring, growth observation, distance between daphnia,number of active daphnia.(4)Self-contained and securable housing. This requirement is not a request for quotations. Any firm which feels it can meet this requirement must submit appropriate documentation in writing within 15 days of electronic posting of this notice. A determination not to compete the proposed purchase order based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement or o proceed on a sole source basis. the acquisition is being processed under FAR Part 13, Simplified Acquisiiton Procedures The anticipated award date is June 5, 2001.
