Description

The USDA, Agricultural Research Service, Avian Disease and Oncology Research Unit, East Lansing, Michigan, has the requirement to purchase a laboratory robotic liquid handling system. This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. Solicitation No. 5114-1-2004 is issued as a Request for Proposal. This solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 97-25. The solicitation is issued under full and open competition. Any responsible contractor may submit a quotation. NAICS Code is 11231 with a corresponding size standard of 500 employees applies to qualify as a small business. Offerors are to propose prices for the following: system will consist of four (4) sampling probes with independent Z-drives; varispan-automatic variable spacing between sampling probes; peristaltic pump for tip washing and carry-over elimination; tile deck design to enable positioning for 384 well plates; independent liquid level sensing on all sampling tips; eight (8) multi-rack tiles and one (1) washbowl/trough rack; Windows NT Operating system and Microsoft OfficePro 97; WinPrep application's software; and one (1) operator's manual. Packard Model No: 6000585; One (1) 500 UL Maintenance Kit which includes: two (2) syringes, two (2) valves, four (4) reagent seal O-rings, four (4) reagent seals, one (1) tubing replacement kit, and one (1) tube of syringe pump lubrication fluid, Packard Model No: 70001569, and One (1) MPII customer Service Manual, Packard Model No: 1694182. A 12 month warranty that covers all parts and labor is required. Installation and instruction will be required at the location by trained personnel and the cost will be at no additional cost.
