- Description
- The Bureau of the Census in Jeffersonville, Indiana is considering buying an undetermined quantity of folding machines. It is projected that we may need two "buckleplate" folders. These folders should feature a friction feeder system with no vacuum involved. They should be a folder that can fold letter size (8 1/2 x 11), ledger (8/12 x 14), tabloid (11 x 17), and larger sizes and booklets. They must be able to fold this material in a "C" fold, half-fold, "Z" fold, and half and half in one pass. They must be capable of producing up to 25,000 letter size folds per hour, sixteen hours per day, six days per week for several years with normal preventative maintenance. 24 pound laser copy paper will be used in conjunction with these machines. It is also projected that we will need one "knife" folder. It must be able to half-fold a 11 x 17 booklet containing 24 plies of 24 pound laser copy paper. Interested parties should submit a response indicating the ability to provide these items and any descriptive literature on the product they propose to provide. Responses may be mailed or faxed for delivery by 6/21/01. Mailed responses should be sent to: Bureau of the Census, Bldg. 66, Room 149, 1201 E. 10th Street, Jeffersonville, IN 47132.
