- Description
- The Air Force Office of Scientific Research (AFOSR) announces the availability of a BAA for the 2002 Defense University Research Instrumentation Program (DURIP) on behalf of the Department of Defense (DoD). This program will be administered through the Army Research Office, the Office of Naval Research, the Air Force Office of Scientific Research, and the Ballistic Missile Defense Organization. DURIP is designed to improve the capabilities of U.S. universities to conduct research and to educate scientists and engineers in areas important to national defense by providing funds for the acquisition of research equipment. This competition is open only to U.S. institutions of higher education with degree granting programs in science, math, and/or engineering. The 2002 solicitation is open to proposals for equipment acquisitions that will support research and research-related education in any of the areas of interest to the DoD. The BAA provides the procedures for obtaining the program descriptions and areas of interest of the individual administration office. These descriptions of research interests are generally available from university offices of sponsored programs. Names and addresses for the responsible program managers can also be found in the descriptive material for each of the administration offices. It is recommended that interested researchers contact DoD program managers in the relevant technical areas to recognize the research emphasis before submitting proposals. The BAA is accessible on the World Wide Web at http://www.afosr.af.mil. Please select the "Research Opportunities" section. See Note 26.
