Description
THIS WAS ALSO PUBLISHED IN FEDBIZOPPS UNDER SAME SOLICITATION NUMBER ON MAY 15, 2001 BUT DID NOT APPEAR IN CBD. The U.S. Coast Guard intends to award a sole-source purchase order to TANO Corporation, New Orleans, LA to purchase standardized Machinery Plant Control and Monitoring System (MPCMS) components necessary to retrofit the existing Steering Control System to be a full follow-up Z-con Tractor Controls Steering System on nine 175' WLM vessels, hulls 551-559. Specifications, plans or drawings relating to this procurement are not available and cannot be provided by the Government. This information is proprietary to TANO. These parts are necessary for compatibility with the existing propulsion/steering system. Subject retrofit will standardize this class vessel to be full follow-up. The following will be purchased: (1) P/N 4405A 8000-1, Junction Box Assembly (complete with relays) 9 each; (2) P/N 4400A 5000-5, Dual Relay Panel Assembly with 24 VDC relays -- 9 each. Offerors who can furnish the identical items listed above may submit, in writing, a proposal substantiated by technical data, brochures, pictures, etc., to include pricing data. All responses must be received within 15 calendar days of this CBD notice, addressed to U.S. Coast Guard Engineering and Logistics Center, Mail Stop 26, Attn: Dani Wildason,, 2401 Hawkins Pt. Road, Baltimore, MD, 21226. There is no request for quotation available at this time. This is a commercial item buy and the solicitation will be prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12. All responses submitting the required information will be fully considered. As a result of analyzing responses to the synopsis of intent, the Contracting Officer may determine that the action may be competed. A determination by the Government not to compete this requirement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. ATTENTION: Minority, Women-Owned and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBEs)! The Department of Transportation (DOT), Short Term Lending Program (STLP) offers working capital financing in the form of lines of credit to finance accounts receivable for transportation related contracts.
