Description

(a) The previous CBD notice (CBDNet on 10 May and printed issue on 14 May) regarding the ASIC CHIP SET FOR NPOESS, SOL IPO-2001-01, contained an error. Item 17, sub-item (xv), indicates a response date of Monday, March 21, 2001. This should have read Monday, May 21, 2001. However, because of the clarification in (b) following, the response date and time is extended to noon Eastern time on Wednesday, May 23, 2001. (b) The notice requested pricing for QML-Q and QML-V parts. This does not indicate that a qualifications requirement has been established, and no qualified manufacturers list exists. Responders are free to quote innovative solutions that will satisfy the Government's requirements as described in the notice and in the referenced ASIC CHIP SET BACK-UP DOCUMENT on the NPOESS website. Responders quoting parts that are not QML-Q or QML-V certified should describe the testing or other processes their parts will undergo to be flight-worthy and to provide confidence to the Government customer in the reliability of the product.
