Description

Repairs will include drydocking; sandblasting of the hull; application of paint and/or surface coatings; zinc replacement; rudder removal, testing and reinstallation; propeller and tailshaft removal; tailshaft alignment; stern tube inspection and rehabilitation; utilities and security watch during shipyard period and other miscellaneous repairs. Work shall be completed within a 60 day period. The tug will be delivered to and from the shipyard by Government personnel. All work will be in accordance with the current rules of the American Bureau of Shipping and the U.S. Coast Guard where applicable for certification of vessels. Bids will be considered only from shipyards having a servicing facility located within 100 air miles of the Cape Cod Canal Field Office, Buzzards Bay, MA. Solicitation shall be made available via the Internet on or about 6/8/01. No paper copies of the solicitation or amendments will be available. Prospective bidders, subcontractors, and plan rooms are required to self-register their firm or office on the Internet to receive the solicitation. Registration instructions are available on the Internet at http://www.nae.usace.army.mil as well as the media by which the solicitation will be made available. Amendments, if any, to this solicitation will be made available at this Internet site. Neither telephonic, mailed nor fax requests will be accepted.
