- Description
- The Naval Undersea Warfare Center, Division Newport, Rhode Island intends to contract with an in-town Newport, Rhode Island hotel in order to hold orientation/interview functions for potential employees coming from colleges across the U.S. and its territories. We will need a function/banquet room and approximately 45 guest rooms for each function. We will hold evening functions on 18 October 2001 (second choices -- 16 or 17 October 2001); 15 November 2001 (second choice -- 14 November 2001); 6 December 2001 (second choices -- 5, 12, or 13 December 2001); 13 February 2002; and 21 March 2002. We intend to award one contract for all five functions. We will evaluate capability, past performance and price to determine the best value for the Government. The factors for evaluation of capability will include the following: (1) the hotel must be located in Newport, Rhode Island within walking distance of shops and restaurants; (2) the hotel must have enough rooms to guarantee up to 55 rooms; (3) the hotel must accept a Tax Exemption Certificate; (4) the hotel must apply a reasonable cancellation policy; (5) the hotel must have a function/banquet room with a capacity for up to 100 people; (6) the hotel must provide catering services with hot/cold food and soft drinks for up to 100 people; (7) the hotel must provide both theater with audio/visual equipment and lounge set-up; (8) the hotel must allow reasonable flexibility in adapting to changes in the number of rooms, participants, and special needs required for the event; (9) attractive accommodations; and (10) parking arrangements. Offerors must respond to the Solicitation N66604-01-R-4370 with proposals addressing these areas, as well as prices, and references. The solicitation is expected to be issued on 30 May 2001, in which case proposals must be received by 2:00 p.m. 27 June 2001.
