Description
66 -- The USDA, Agricultural Research Service in Albany, California has a requirement for: ITEM (1) -- a triple, stackable, multitron orbital shaking incubator with removable flask trays, and top-mounted cooling. The unit must be compatible with existing INFORS Multitron units in order to replicate research parameters; temperature Peltier effect electronic cooling for ambient +5 degrees C to 60 degrees C without cooling; ambient -15 degrees C to 60 degrees C with cooling; diameter throw 15mm or 50mm, shaking speed 20-400rpm, accuracy plus or minus 0.2 degrees C. ITEM (2) -- Topcount, 2-detector variplate microplate scintillation and luminescence counter with heatsealer microplate, lumaplate, and deepwell lumaplate. Equipment must have solid scintillant technology and able to count discrete samples in eppendorf tubes using Cerenkov or scintillation counting; have microplate reader; utilize triple-mode, single photomultiplier tube technology for counting samples directly from the top in standard microplate format, include two detectors dedicated for counting two samples simultaneously in the 14mm, size well of the 24-well plate, and two detectors dedicated for counting two samples simultaneously in the 7mm size well of the 96-well plate; be capable of solid scintillation counting in the 96-well or 24-well formats using solid scintillation plates; and the system must have easy access, external, front-loading automatic plate stacker, that accepts at least 20 96-well plates, or at least 15 24-well plates for loading and unloading of plates without interruption of sample counting. A solicitation is not available for ITEMS 1 and 2. Interested firms are encouraged to submit proposals containing descriptive literature of their products for ITEM 1 and/or ITEM 2 to the mailing address shown in this notice. The government intends to award ITEM 1 and ITEM 2 on a sole-source basis. See numbered Note 22.*****
