Description
The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) intends to acquire a Component Improvement Program (CIP) for the Rolls Royce F405 engine. The contractor shall provide engineering and supporting services to conduct a CIP to maintain systems effectiveness and optimize the affordable readiness of the F405-RR-401 propulsion system. The contractor shall conduct engineering projects in accordance with Engineering Program Descriptions (EPDs) to consist of identifying and investigating potential fleet problems and recommend re-design and other solutions to improve safety, develop engineering drawings and technical data to implement solutions and conduct supporting and integrated laboratory, component and engine testing and support weapon system testing. NAVAIR anticipates award of cost-plus award fee contract on a sole source basis to Rolls Royce. See Note 22. !!
