- Description
- The United States Agency for International Development in Kathmandu, Nepal, plans to issue a Request for Proposals (RFP) for technical assistance and training services to assist the Government of Nepal to facilitate and prepare for increased private sector investment in sustainable hydroelectric power. The contractor will work closely with the host government to improve the environment for private sector investment in hydropower and increase the environmental and social sustainability of hydropower investment for both domestic supply and exports. Specific activities will include developing the capabilities and procedures of the Government of Nepal's Department of Electricity Development (DOED), and in building understanding of and addressing constraints to hydropower development in Nepal. The contract will be for four years with an option to extend for a fifth year. The RFP will be issued in early June 2001. The deadline for receipt of proposals will be specified in the RFP. The preferred method of distribution of USAID procurement information is via the Internet or other electronic means. The RFP, once issued, can be downloaded from the Agency web site at: http://www.usaid.gov/procurement_bus_opp/procurement/. Receipt of this RFP through Internet must be confirmed by written notification to the contact persons noted above.
