Description

This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial services prepared in accordance with the format in 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being required and a written solicitation will not be issued. This is a request for quote solicitation. The following services are required in Barbados: Base period-Personnel to provide simultaneous interpretation services from 9-12 Jul 2001 for a conference to be held in one room. Additionally during this period, the US Army will require 65 interpretation headsets, 33 conference microphones, and any necessary interpretation transmitters and booths. During periods when simultaneous interpretation is not taking place, the interpreters shall be assisting with document translation. Option period one will be from 22-31 August 2001 and will include the following: Document translation services with three translators from 22-31 August 2001; simultaneous interpretation services from 27-31 Aug 2001 for service in up to 6 rooms simultaneously with different material in each room; equipment required will include 130 wireless interpretation headsets, 143 conference microphones, for use in a main conference room and six break out rooms. There is a built-in interpretation booth overlooking the main conference room. Breakout rooms do not have built-in booths. The Sherborne Conference Center will host the seminar; POC is Shelly Austin at 246-434-4000 for inquiries of the center's technical capabilities. Languages will be from English to Spanish and Spanish to English for both periods. Contractor is responsible for all transportation, shipping, lodging and food costs to and from Barbados for both periods. . Headsets for both periods must be multi-channel and lightweight. Contractor must provide two references of same or similar type past performance. Daily schedule will generally be from 0800-1700 with one hour for lunch.
