Description

This project is comprised of the following work: reconstruction of 0.20 kilometers of 4.2 meter wide road. The reconstruction includes construction staking, culvert removal, clearing and grubbing, excavation, embankment construction, hauling, end hauling, furnishing and installing corrugated metal pipes, pit development, and seeding and fertilizing. Unless otherwise provided, the contractor is to furnish all labor, materials, equipment, tools, transportation, and supplies. This project is located on Mitkof Island in Southeast Alaska approximately 31 air kilometers/19 air miles (56 kilometers/35 miles by road) south of the town of Petersburg, Alaska. Access to Petersburg is either by the Alaska Marine Highway ferry, boat, plane or helicopter. Contract time is 3 months. Estimated start work date is July 15, 2001. Estimated price range is between $25,000 and $100,000. The solicitation will be posted to our web site (URL address is http://www.fs.fed.us/r10/solicitations/ )for downloading by C.O.B. (local time) on June 14, 2001. It will be the responsibility of the quoter to check the web site for any amendments to the solicitation.
