Description

NASA/SSC plans to issue a Request for Offers (RFO) for Propulsion Test Operations Building Site Development. The work for this requirement consists of, but is not limited to the following: Provide all labor, equipment, and materials to construct the subgrade of a 600-foot by 600-foot site with an 800-foot entrance road. The 600-foot by 600-foot site and the 800-foot entrance road will require stump removal, excavation, and embankment. In addition, the 800-foot roadway will be covered with six-inches of crushed limestone and require two drainage culverts. The project also includes the excavation of an additional 1,236-foot drainage ditch. The work required to construct the 1,236-foot drainage ditch will also entail the clearing of trees and the removal of stumps from a 1,236-foot by 100-foot maintenance easement. The order of magnitude for the procurement is $500,000 to $1,000,000, and the effort shall be completed within 120 calendar days after notice to proceed. This procurement is a total small business set-aside. (See government Note 1). The NAICS Code and small business size standard for this procurement are 233320 and $27.5 million, respectively. The anticipated release date of the RFO is on or about June 14, 2001, with an anticipated offer closing date of on or about July 16, 2001. The firm date for receipt of bids or offers will be stated in the RFO. All QUALIFIED responsible sources may submit a bid which shall be considered by the agency. An ombudsman has been appointed -- See NASA Specific Note "B". Specifications and Drawings will only be made available from the Bid Distribution Office. The solicitation and any documents related to this procurement [with the exception of the specifications and drawings] will be available over the Internet. These documents will be in Microsoft Office 97 format and will reside on a World-Wide Web (WWW) server, which may be accessed using a WWW browser application.
