Description

NASA/MSFC plans to issue a Request for Offer (RFO) for 4 (four) "Type A" Accumulators and 10 (ten) "Type B" Accumulators per MSFC-SPEC-3106 to be used in the Materials Science Research Rack 1 and the Fluids and Combustion Facility both of which will be flown on the International Space Station. The accumulators are required to provide over expansion protection for MSRR-1 and FCF during periods of storage when the ambient temperatures are relatively high, causing expansion of the fluid in the coolant-water filled systems. The Government does not intend to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. See Note 26. This is an unrestricted procurement to be procured on a full and open competitive basis. The NAICS Code and Size Standard are 332999 and 500 employees or less, respectively. The DPAS Rating for this procurement is DO-C9. The provisions and clauses in the RFO and model contract will be those in effect through FAC 97-25. All qualified responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency. The anticipated release date of the RFO is on or about June 11, 2001 with an anticipated offer due date on or about July 6, 2001. An ombudsman has been appointed -- See NASA Specific Note "B". The solicitation and any documents related to this procurement will be available over the Internet. These documents will be in Microsoft Office 97 format and will reside on a World Wide Web (WWW) server, which may be accessed using a WWW browser application.
