Description

Headquarter Joint Task Force/Southwest Asia (HQ JTF-SWA) plans to = issue a Request for Quotation to upgrade 199 each, Motorola AN/PRC112 = radios. The contractor shall provide all supplies, plant, labor, = equipment, and transportation necessary to upgrade existing radios to = model AN/PRC112B1. Upgrade shall give each radio operational = enhancement capabilities of GPS technology, two-way messaging, and = encryption capability of model AN/PRC-112/112C multi-mission = transceiver. HQ JTF-SWA intends to purchase the upgrade requirement = from Motorola Radio Products pursuant to FAR 6.302-1. The acquisition = of supplies or services is available from only one source and no other = supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. An immediate = need exist to enhance the operational capabilities of the existing = Motorola radios manufactured by Motorola to support HQ JTF-SWA = operations. It is an absolute requirement that compatibility be = maintained between the upgrade hardware and the existing hardware. = Motorola Radio Products is the only manufacturer that can supply the = upgrade capability and guarantee conformance with the existing radios. = The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. = Interested firms have 7 days from the publication of this synopsis to = submit in writing to the identified point of contact, their = qualifications/capabilities. Such qualifications/capabilities will be = used solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct = this procurement on a competitive basis. Responses received after 7 = days or without the required information will be considered = nonresponsive to the synopsis and will not be considered. A = determination by the Government to not compete this proposed effort on = a full and open competitive basis, based upon responses to this notice = is solely within the discretion of the Government. All qualified = responsible sources may submit an offer, which shall be considered by = the agency.
