Modification to solicitation N68936-00-G-0001/0010 posted in the January 3, 2001 issue of the Commerce Business Daily. Order type changed from fixed price to time-and-materials. Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division (NAVAIRWARCENWPNDIV), China Lake, CA intends to negotiate on an other-than-competitive basis with SEI, Asheville, NC a T&M order under BOA Number N68936-00-G-0001 for Thin-Pack Parachute (TPP) systems, components, related assemblies, engineering/logistical support and other services. This order is for contractor support in providing packing and marking of up to 6,000 (changed from 2,500) P-3 TPP systems stored at the contractor's facility for delivery to Government-directed sites and agencies. RFP issued on April 3, 2001. Proposal received April 25, 2001. Negotiations commenced May 18, 2001. Anticipate issuance of Amendment by May 30, 2001. Anticipate conclusion of negotiations by June 10, 2001. Anticipate award of Order 0010 by June 20, 2001. SEI is the only source producing Thin-Pack Parachute Systems using the Thin-Pack/Lightweight Environmentally Sealed Parachute Assembly (LESPA) technology and is the only source to pack, mark and ship TPP systems without violating existing warranties. Thin-Pack Parachute drawing packages and associated packing, sealing, and closing processes has proprietary markings, making required design and maintenance information not releasable.
