- The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) intends = to enter into a sole source purchase order with William Morris Agency = of New York, New York under the authority of 41 U.S.C. 253(c)(1) -- Only = one responsible source and no other type of services will satisfy = agency requirements. This order provides speaker fees for Christopher = Reeves to be a guest speaker at the NIST Advanced Technology Program = (ATP) National Conference on June 4, 2001. William Morris Agency and, = and specifically Mr. Reeves, is a powerful advocate for the profound = impact of medical research, a major focus of the conference. The = Government anticipates the award of a firm-fixed priced purchase order. = The proposed requirement is for supplies or services for which the = Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under = authority of FAR 13.106. Interested persons may identify their interest = and capability to respond to the requirement or submit quotations. This = notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations. However, = all quotations received by May 31 will be considered by the government. = A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed = requirement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the = discretion of the government. Information received will normally be = considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a = competitive procurement. A Request for Quotation (RFQ) package is not = available.
