Description

The National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI), intends to = negotiate on a sole source basis with the Dr. Yue Zhang, 3029 Grotto = Walk, Elliott City, Maryland 21042. To conduct research and = development to determine the structure and function of several classes = of myosins. This acquisition is being conducted under simplified = acquisition procedures and is exempt from the requirements of FAR part = 6. The North American Industry Classification code is 711510, Size = Standard $5.M is designated for this requirement. Dr. Yue Zhang has = many years of experience in molecular biology techniques and tissue = culture. Dr. Yue Zhang has conducted research in several classes of = myosins and has engineered recombinant molecules for baculoviral and = bacterial expression studies. Dr. Zhang possess the knowledge, = experience, and technical expertise to continue NHLBI's research = efforts in engineering recombinant molecules for baculoviral and = bacterial expression studies. An award to any other source cannot be = made due to Dr. Zhang's extension research in several classes of = myosins who's progress cannot be recovered through competition. = This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. = Interested parties may identify their interest and capabilities in = response to this requirement. The determination by the Government not = to compete the proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is = solely within the discretion of the Government.
