Description

The National Park Service (NPS), Golden Gate National Recreation Area (GGNRA)has identified a requirement to remove aproximately 175 Monterey Pines (Pinus radiata) trees from a sensitive species habitat. The project location is in the Marin Headlands above Conzelman Road in the GGNRA. The exotic trees have established in coastal sagebrush and coastal prairie habitat. DBH measurements range from 5 to 35, with heights ranging from 6 to 45 ft. To reduce disturbance to soils and vegetation, the Contractor shall work with a helicopter and crane to remove the trees. The helicopter and pilot will be hired by the NPS. The National Park Service welcomes the participation of small, minority and woman-owned business enterprises.
