Description

The U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service invites bids on a contract for the construction of the Herbert H. Bateman Educational and Administrative Center at the Chincoteague National Wildlife Refuge, Chincoteague, Virginia. This work will involve the construction of two elevated wood and steel framed buildings on wood piles with concrete grade beams and concrete/steel columns. These two buildings have a combined total of approximately 19,815 square feet. The work will also include all necessary site work, building demolition, some asbestos abatement, paving, landscaping and utility installation. The facility will utilize ground water as heat sink for modular heat pump HVAC system and constructed wetlands for sewage treatment. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 233320 (former SIC code 1542). Estimated magnitude of this project is between $5,000,000.00 and $10,000,000.00. The cost for plans and specifications will be $125.00. All responsible sources may submit a bid which, if timely received, will be considered.
