Description
The project includes design of building and garage foundation systems, structural analysis for building and garages, design of site utility systems, design of building fire sprinkler system, demolition and disposal of two existing housing structures with possible asbestos and lead paint abatement, site preparation, earthwork, construction of crushed aggregate parking area, construction of a new two-story, wood frame multi-family housing unit with exterior decking, water line, sanitary sewer, primary and secondary exterior electrical, concrete, metal fabrication, rough carpentry, prefabricated wood trusses, finish carpentry, thermal and moisture protection, roofing and siding, doors and windows, painting, flooring, residential equipment, cabinets, plumbing, fire sprinkler system, heating and ventilation, and interior electrical. The project is located at the Craig Administrative Site in Craig, Alaska. Craig is located on Prince of Wales Island 60 air miles west of Ketchikan, Alaska. Access to Craig is either by Alaska Marine Highway ferries or by float plane. A 30-mile paved two-lane highway provides access from the ferry terminal at Hollis, Alaska on the east side of the island to Craig. The island is also served by barge lines originating in Seattle and passing through Ketchikan. The estimated price range for the project is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. A formal pre-bid tour is planned for 1:00 pm on June 26, 2001 at the USFS Housing Compound, 400 Fram Street, Petersburg, Alaska. The existing 400 Fram facility is a sister building to the proposed Craig Housing building. Contact Gerry Herbrandson at 907-772-3841 if you plan to attend the pre-bid tour. The contract time will be 425 calendar days. The solicitation except for the contract drawings will be posted to our web site (URL address shown below) for downloading by C.O.B. on June 15, 2001. The contract drawings will need to be purchased from a third party at a cost of $26 plus shipping for 11"x17" and $84 plus shipping for 24"x36". All the information you will need to obtain the contract drawings from the third party will be posted to our web site when we issue the solicitation. It will be the responsibility of the bidder to check the web site for any amendments to the solicitation. In case we are unable to post an amendment to our web site please provide the contact information that is requested when you download the solicitation. ONLY contact our office to receive a hard copy of the solicitation if you DO NOT have access to the internet. All responsible sources may submit a bid that will be considered.
