Description

Purpose of this project is to repair damage to Forest Road System from the Jasper Fire suppression and salvage efforts. Prevent damage from increased sedimentation and altered runoff patterns due to the changed vegetation condition. Work includes blading and shaping aggregate surfaced (collector) roads; replace damaged aggregate surfacing on collector roads, including roads outside the fire perimeter that were damaged in haul operations; repair and improve drainage on native surface (local) roads; maintenance of local roads; spot surfacing on local roads; closing roads, including two-track, non-system roads, by constructing berms or scattering slash and reseeding areas disturbed through closure construction. Project is located on the Hell Canyon and Mystic Ranger Districts, Custer and Pennington Counties, Black Hills National Forest, SD. Contract time is 534 calendar days. Estimated bid range is between $250,000 and $500,000. All responsible sources will be considered by the agency.
