Description

The U. S. Department of Education, Office of Special Education = Programs (OSEP), intends to award a 24 month, with three 12 month = options contract to operate a multi-level technical assistance system = which shall be called an Early Childhood Technical Assistance Center = (ECTAC). The ECTAC is to help ensure that eligible infants and = toddlers with disabilities ages birth through two years and their = families receive comprehensive and quality early intervention services = and that young children with disabilities (ages three thru five years) = receive special education and related services by: providing technical = asistance to all jurisdictiosn elegilbe to participate in Part = B-section 619 and Part C of the IDEA; helping entities respond to needs = identified through an assessment process and through federal and State = monitoring activities; and providing technical assistance to early = childhood discretionary projects funded by OSEP under Part D of the = IDEA. The critical focus will be to construct mechanisms to link = prfessionals who are involved in producing new knowledge and products = with program administrators, families, and service providers by = utilizing State technical assistance systems, national organizations = and their State divisions, and other technical assistance and = clearinghours projects. This will be a performance base incentive = contract. The opening date is June 14, 2001, closing date is July 17, = 2001.
