Description

The Government intends to lease 1,400 digital numeric pagers, including airtime and maintenance with the following minimum salient characteristics: operation with one AAA battery; 40 message slot; backlight display; message timestamping; numeric retrieval audible tone and silent vibration features; time of day display; message lock; memory retention (When the pager is turned -off, all messages and the time of day remain in memory.); memory full display (When 40 messages are stored in memory, a memory full notice is displayed. A new message causes the oldest (first) read message to be overwritten. When read message are erased, the display returns to the standby screen); duplicate message display; tone only display; (When a message is red that does not contain numeric data, a display appears acknowledging such); and low battery alert (audible and displayed). Retrieval time for pagers should be no more than 90 seconds. All pagers provided shall be new or in as-new operating condition, meeting or exceeding the minimuum salien characteristics specfied above. A minimum of 25 spare digital numeric pagers, 25 replacement belt clips, and 25 replacement battery covers shall be provided by the contractor at no additional cost to the Government and replinished on a weekly basis, if necessary, at no additional cost to the Government. The contract coverage shall be for the Hampton Roads area from the Peninsual to Nags Head and the Richmond area of Virginia. Leasing of the pagers shall commence on 1 October 2001 and services continue until 30 September 2002 with four one-year option provision to extend the period of performance. The resulting contract will be a follow-on to contract N00140-96-C-2567 with MobileComm, 232 Business Park Drive, Virginia Beach, VA. which is due to expire on 30 September 2001. The requirement will be solicited under Full and Open Competition in accordance with FAR Subpart 6.1, Acquisition of Commerical Items in accordance with FAR Subpart12,and Section 4202 of the Clinger-Cohen Act of 1996, FAR Subpart 13.5. The requirement is for the MID, Telecommunications Division of the Regional Medical Center, Portsmouth, Virginia. Interested/Responsible parties may submit their companies' name to be added to an in-house Bidders Mailing List and to advise if services can be offered under an existing General Service Administration (GSA) contract. Copies of the solicitation will no be mailed; therefore, contractors are advised to pull down a copy of the solicitation from either the Fleet and Industrial Supply Center (FISC), Norfolk's website @nor.fisc.navy.mil or Naval Electronic Commercie Online (NECO) website @neco,navy.mil.
