- Description
- Provide the US. Department of Energy (DOE) will all personnel, equipment, labor, supplies, materials, and services necessary to provide regularly scheduled shuttle bus and unscheduled "on call" bus service. A scheduled 45 passenger shuttle bus service, from 7:00 am to 6:30 pm every Government work day, is required. The buses must be dedicated to the contract, as there are eight (8) round trips per day between the Forrestal Facility in Washington DC. and the DOE facilities in Germantown Md., for two (2) buses. For unscheduled service, contractor must have the capacity to provide seven (7) additional buses with a capacity of 45-55 passengers based on 24 hour notice. The contractor must have the capability to provide all equipment without subcontracting out the work to another bus company. Buses used for regular scheduled service can not be used for unscheduled bus service. All buses provided to the DOE must not be manufactured any later than three (3) years from, the initiation of the first year of the contract, or manufactured before December 1998. All buses (schedule and unscheduled) used by the contractor shall be: clean, modern, and dependable; and shall be equipped with: air conditioner, lavatory, carry two way communications for emergencies, heater, passenger windows, all forward facing interstate type seats with padded backs, springs or rubber cushion seats and suitable for over the highway transportation between Maryland, Virginia and Washington DC. All buses must have an integrated luggage compartment of a minimum of 105 unencumbered cubic feet. This acquisition is UNRESTRICTED and a not a set aside. For information purposes, the NAIC code is 485113. The solicitation is not currently available, but is estimated to be available on or about the first week of July 2001. When available, the solicitation will only be obtained by downloading it from the Internet via the "Industry Interactive Procurement System (IIPS)" home page located at Internet address: http://e-center.doe.gov/.
