Description

The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) intends to enter into sole source negotiations and subsequently award an option to the Fiscal Year 2000 Harpoon Weapon Systems contract to McDonnell Douglas Corp. (MDC), a Wholly Owned Subsidiary of the Boeing Company. The option will be for the procurement of up to ninety-two (92) Harpoon All-Up-Rounds (AUR) missiles in tactical and exercise configurations, as well as all related equipment, services, documentation, spares and production support equipment.. Various missile configurations will be procured depending on the requirements specified in the Letter of Acceptance (LOA) of each customer. Unless otherwise stated herein, no additional written information is available, and no formal Request for Proposal (RFP) or other solicitation regarding this announcement is currently available. Requests for the same will be disregarded. It is anticipated that the sole source solicitation will be available after 30 July 2001. After 30 July 2001, you may submit e-mail requests for an electronic copy of the anticipated solicitation to either of the points of contact listed below. THIS NOTICE IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS. A determination by the Government not to compete this effort is solely within the discretion of the Government. GENERAL INFORMATION: McDonnell Douglas Corp. (MDC) is the sole designer, developer, and manufacturer of the Harpoon missile and is the only known firm with the necessary knowledge, technical data, equipment, facilities, and experience to perform this effort within the required timeframe.
