Description

The Naval Air Systems Command intends to issue an order under Basic Ordering Agreement# N00019-00-G-0116 with McDonnell Douglas Corporation, A Wholly Owned Subsidiary of the Boeing Company, P.O. Box 516, St. Louis, MO 62166-0516. The ECP provides trainer and AV-8B cockpits with an improved low altitude/airspeed sensor as part of the SJU-4/A ejection seat improvement program. The change is to provide electrical power provisions and installation provisions for an electrical airspeed altitude sensor (EAAS) to replace the mechanical altitude airspeed sensor (AAS). This order will be issued on a sole source basis to MDC, the only source with the pre-requisite knowledge and experience in the design and development of the AV-8 Aircraft.
