Description

The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) intends = to procure, on a sole source basis, the services of Dr. Lu Deng of = Gaithersburg, MD under the authority of 41 U.S.C. 253(c)(1) -- Only one = responsible source. Dr. Deng will provide technical services to = support the NIST Synchrotron Ultraviolet Radiation Facility (SURF III), = and specifically, the BL-2 which is used for calibration of extreme = ultraviolet spectrometers that are flown in NASA satellite and space = shuttle missions. Dr. Deng is uniquely qualified to perform this = requirement based upon his extensive experience with the SURF III = facility, especially BL-2 beamline. The anticipated award date of this = order is 06/08/01. The period of performance for this requirement is = seven (7) months from award of the purchase order. Interested persons = may identify their interest and capability to respond to the = requirement. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive = proposals. However, the Government will consider all responses = received by the response date identified in this synopsis. Written = responses to this synopsis shall contain sufficient documentation to = establish a bonafide capability to fulfill the requirement. A = solicitation is not available. See Numbered Note 26.****
