Description
The Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS), an independent Federal grant making agency, invites proposals for the development of a suite of materials and resources (toolkit) to help museums and libraries assess the outcomes of IMLS-funded services, products, and programs. The project is intended to provide substantive materials for self-education in designing outcome-oriented programs and services, and designing, implementing, and reporting outcomes of projects or programs funded wholly or in part by IMLS. A single contractor will be selected for this firm fixed-price contract, which will be conducted in two phases. Phase I will be expected to produce two products. The first product is a detailed development plan for materials and resources to help the library and museum communities develop outcome-oriented products and programs, and to measure the impact (outcomes) of those products and programs on the audiences to which they are provided. The second product is a suite of practical and substantive materials and resources (hereafter called a toolkit) for libraries and museums to use for these purposes. IMLS does not have a fixed expectation for the design of the toolkit, but anticipates that materials will be available to the target communities in both print and electronic form. The length of this project has been estimated based on the following hours: Full-time writer/designer and part-time administrative assistant for duration of project. Two months each or less, other research and production support (including research, graphic design, data tech, copy editor, etc.) Offerors may choose to propose a different schedule provided the project is completed within the maximum duration of fourteen months. The solicitation package, IMLS-01-TK, will be available on June 19, 2001 and offers are due to be submitted by the close of business on July 18, 2001. All REQUESTS FOR COPIES OF THE SOLICITATION MUST BE IN WRITING AND RECEIVED BY JUNE 19, 2001 at the Institute of Museum and Library Services, 1100 Pennsylvania Avenue, NW, Room 802, Washington, DC 20506. Two (2) return mailing labels must be enclosed with requests. Verbal, Facsimile (FAX), or E-Mail requests for the package will NOT be honored. All responsible sources may submit an offer that will be considered.
