- Description
- The Air Force Flight Test Center, Edwards AFB CA (AFFTC) is = seeking sources for a requirement for the Airborne Laser (ABL) = Integrated Test Force (ITF) to support integration and testing of the = ABL weapon system and associated analysis and range activities. The = capability consists of providing a hybrid of expertise in Airborne = Directed Energy test and evaluation. Qualifications for this group = must consist of the following skills: 1.)Flight Test Engineering with = Program Management experience; integration and test experience in = Chemical Iodine Oxygen Lasers (COIL) High Energy Laser (HEL) programs = such as THEL, MIRACLE, ABL, SBL or AFRL research; experience as a Test = Pilot School instructor preferred. 2) Electromechanical optics, = Lasers, or chemical engineering with applied laser and optics = experience. COIL HEL experience preferred. 3) Beam Control Fire = Control with test experience in airborne target acquisition, pointing, = and scoring preferred; experience in atmospheric compensation testing = and theater atmospheric characterization preferred; experience in a = COIL System Program Office such as ABL or SBL preferred. 4) Range = experience in laser scoring target boards; experience in laser targets, = engagement geometries, target definition, analysis, and selection; = range coordination experience related to HEL testing. 5) Prior ABL = experience in either the Conceptual Design phase or Program Definition = Risk Reduction (PDRR) phase preferred with a clear understanding of the = ABL PDRR Integration and test program. 6) Currently on Military Flight = Orders or able to pass a military class III flight physical or FAA = equivalent and all of the other required training for flight on a = military aircraft, in order to support testing in the ABL weapon system = while airborne. 7) Experience as a test director or test conductor on a = military weapons system program. 8)Current Top Secret Clearance (SBI) = preferred Secret Clearance required. The firm shall have a pool of = resources with the above mentioned skills to allocate and de-allocate, = with short notice, in response to program needs to assist in problem = solving and resolution during the integration and testing of the ABL = weapons system during PDRR. The firm shall use resources to train ABL = segment specific engineers as Directed Energy FTE?s to support test = conduct and testing of the ABL weapon system. The firm shall provide = resources to support test-planning, execution, and conduct as needed = for the PDRR program.
