Description

The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) has a requirement for Management and Data Systems support for the Federal Geographic Data Committee (FGDC) Standards Harmonization activity. THE USGS ANTICIPATES AWARDING THE PURCHASE ORDER TO LOCKHEED MARTIN, this work originated as an unsolicited proposal submitted from Lockheed Martin and the USGS accepted the proposal as a unique study. Lockheed Martin has unique knowledge and skills to perform the tasks outlined in the requirements. Lockheed Martin is well positioned and represented in FGDC, and has been recognized as a leader in geospatial data and associated standard activities. Lockheed Martin leads numerous standards development activities in these and other standards development organizations and therefore understands their processes and procedures for standards development and how the standards development work is associated and closely linked with those activities of the FGDC. The work will provide the FGDC with detailed knowledge about these other standards activities and will enable the FGDC to better position itself amoung other standards governing bodies and protect its investments in existing standards development. THIS ANNOUNCEMENT IS FOR INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY; no formal RFQ will be available. Vendors who can provide this service are invited to provide an affirmative response to this notice. An affirmative response must include, but not limited to offered services, price lists, and any other additional information indicating a bona fide ability to meet this requirement. All responses must be in writing, no telephone requests will be accepted.
