Description
SEALING COMPOUND 10 ORDERS TOTALING 396/ UI: KT Bidders offering other than brand name items identified herein must furnish with their bids adequate descriptive literature so that a determination can be made as to equality of the products offered. In order for the government to make an "or equal" determination of the offered product(s), the furnished information must delineate each applicable characteristic, unit of measure, and test method of the offered product(s) directly correlated to each of the requirements delineated in the item purchase description. Failure to furnish this information/literature will result in the bid being rejected as non-responsive or may be considered as unacceptable for award in a negotiated procurement (see GSAR Clause 552.221-70). A two-part, polyester resin base gel kit for use as a re-enterable communication cable encapsulant. Size: The product shall be furnished as a 3000 gm kit consisting of base resin and gelling agent packaged in resealable metal or plastic containers. One kit container shall have sufficient unfilled space to permit the addition and mixing of both kit components, or a third empty mixing container shall be supplied within the kit package. There shall be no interaction chemically or physically with the contents or containers which would alter the strength, quality, or purity of the contents. The containers shall not spill or leak during shipment, handling, storage, and redistribution. Packaged components shall be further wrapped, boxed, or containerized together (hot melt alone not acceptable) as a complete kit to prevent kit component separation during shipment, handling, storage, and redistribution. Offering on: Manufacturer's name: ____________________ Brand: ____________________ Part number: ____________________ ITEM MARKING Each item shall be marked with the following: (1) lot or batch number (2) dates of manufacture or shipment, as appropriate, and reinspection (3) instructions for use, thinning, mixing, shaking, etc. (4) instructions for storage, i.e. do not freeze, requires refrigeration, etc. (5) each kit component shall be marked with the kit name and component part. (6) manufacturer's name and part number (7) if applicable, the maximum volatile organic compound content (VOC), less water and exempt solvents, in lbs/gl or grams/liter on quart sizes or larger. PACKAGING PACKAGING: Material packaged as specified above shall be packed in a close-fitting, corrugated, fiberboard box conforming to Section 6(a), Rule 41 of the Uniform Freight Classification and Item 222 of the National Motor Freight Classification (200 minimum burst). Closure of the boxes shall be in accordance with Section 7 of Rule 41 of the Uniform Freight Classification. Gross weight of the box and contents shall not exceed 65 pounds. MARKING All unit, intermediate, transport packages and unit loads shall be marked for delivery to civilian activities in accordance with the FED-STD-123G, dated June 6, 1997, or marked for delivery to military activities in accordance with MIL-STD-129N, dated 15, May, 1997, as applicable.
