Description

This notice is to reopen the bidding process for the construction of the ADAL Aircraft Parking , PN: TUMR 989014 to be constructed at the Muniz Air National Guard Base, Carolina, Puerto Rico. This project was previously solicited under Solicitation NO. DAHA25-00-B-0003. An amendment was issued to all contractors on the current bidder's mailing list dated 9/20/00 to indefinitely suspend the bidding process. This suspension has been lifted. All contractors who previously received the project documents will automatically receive the Amendment 0005 and drawings associated with the amendment. This project consists of the removal and replacement of approx. 18,500 SY of concrete and all inclusive work required to complete the construction as indicated in the drawings and specifications. Security Fencing, Electrical, Sewer, Fire Hydrants, Man Hole installations and other disciplines will participate as part of the construction. Two options shall be included as pricing in the bid package, Option 1 is for ramp lighting; Option 2 is for additional pavement to be installed. The performance period for the project, including the options shall be 365 Calendar days. The prime contractor shall be responsible for all work as indicated on the drawings and in the specifications, and any work incidental to the project that is required to be completed in order for the contractor to provide the Government a complete and useable project. Contractor shall be required to coordinate with Local Airport Authorities, other contractors working within same vicinity and Air National Guard security personnel. Dollar Magnitude of the construction project is $1,000,000 -- $5,000,000.00. The amendment shall be available June 26, 2001. A site visit will be conducted on July 11, 2001 by the Civil Engineer personnel at the Muniz Air National Guard Base, Carolina, Puerto Rico. The new bid date is established as July 31, 2001, 1400 hrs CDT. All bids are to be received at the USPFO for Nebraska, Room 216, 1234 Military Road, Lincoln ,NE 68508-1092 no later than 31 July 2001, 1400 hrs CDT. All bids will be opened publicly. All large businesses are required to submit a Small Disadvantaged Business Subcontracting Plan as per FAR Part 19.702 within 10 calendar days of written notice from the Contracting officer. Failure to submit the subcontracting plan as required by the Contracting Officer, shall be grounds for rejection of the contractor's bid. As per FAR Part 19.1300 the solicitation shall allow for HUBZONE business preference in the evaluation of each bid. All interested parties are encouraged to request the bid documents. The solicitation, specifications and drawings are available on CD-ROM or hard copy for no charge. The contractor shall request the solicitation in writing on Company letterhead.
