Description
This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotes are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. This request for quotation incorporates provisions and clauses in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 97-25. This is a small business set-aside. The NAIC for this acquisition is 333415 and the size standard is 750. The U. S. Coast Guard Aircraft Repair & Supply Center (ARSC) is requesting quotes for one (1) heat-treating furnace with a forced air circulation system in accordance with the following specifications. The footprint dimensions shall fall within 60" W X 108" D X 80" H. Up & down door closure area will be limited to 131" in height and fit the present ventilation hood area, which measures 70"L X 20"W. The internal working area will be at least: 30"-36" tall, 80"-90"D, and 30"-36"W. Temperature range: low setting of 400 degrees Fahrenheit and high setting up to 2000 degrees Fahrenheit. Control system shall consist of a charting reader/printer system and a Watlow 942 Microprocessor/Controller or comparable. This unit can be separate from the furnace in its own cabinet. It should be able to read in Fahrenheit or Celsius temperature standards. Insulation of the furnace must be suitable for inside use with an acceptable air clearance of 2 feet around the outside of the furnace. Door Opening: Clearance for upright opening shall not exceed 131" from the top of the fully open door to the floor. Power requirements: 480 volts, 3-phase. Equipment will contain all up-to-date safety features in accordance with federal and state regulations. Pricing will be FOB: destination and include complete setup and onsite training. FAR provision, 52.212-2 applies and award will be made based on price, delivery date and technical capability of the product. Offerors shall include a completed copy of FAR provision 52.212-3, Offeror Representations and Certifications -- Commercial Items (May 2001), delivery time after receipt of the order and all technical information about the furnace.
