Description

The Social Security Administration (SSA) intends to renew annual = software maintenance provided by an existing contract with Mainstar = Software Corporation. The software products are Mainstar's Recovery = Solution Products that support data identification and movement for = establishment of various LPAR test facilities, Backup and Recovery = Contingency Processing. SSA currently has this software installed and = licensed on SSA's mainframes at the National Computer Center, = Baltimore, Maryland. The software that shall be supported includes = ABARS Manager, ASAP, Incremental ABARS, Recovery Volume, Aggregate = Balancing and GDG Basebuilder. Annual Maintenance of this software = shall include but is not limited to: All upgrades, modification, new = releases, improvements, extensions and other enhancements to the = products and all software updates necessary to keep current with the = new versions or releases of SSA's current operating systems software. = Mainstar Software Corporation is the only known source capable of = providing the required annual software support for the referenced = software products. Other organizations possessing the requisite = expertise and resources are invited to submit information concerning = their capabilities, experience, and other pertinent data (including GSA = Schedule information). When responding to this announcement, = respondents should refer to Mainstar2001. Responses must be in writing = and should be submitted to the address cited at the beginning of this = notice. THE DUE DATE FOR RESPONSES IS 12:00 PM, EST, JUNE 20, 2001. = FAXED RESPONSES SHALL NOT BE PERMITTED. The Government does not intend = to pay for information received. All responses from responsible sources = will be fully considered. As a result of evaluating responses to this = notice, the contracting officer may determine that a solicitation will = be issued. If a solicitation is issued, no additional synopsis will be = published. Any such solicitation will be issued to the intended vendor, = as stated herein, and to all firms that respond to this notice or = otherwise request a copy of the solicitation. After June 20, 2001, no = viable responses have been received, SSA shall issue a purchase order = under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures to Mainstar Software = Corporation.
