Description

The work required for repair of the Caballo Dam Crest Road and Caballo Spillway Bridge consists of in-place milling of the 16,889 square-yard Caballo Dam Crest Road, reclaiming the milled materials as base course for the dam crest road by blending, watering, shaping and compacting to grade, prime coating the prepared base course surface, applying a single 3-inch course of 3/4-inch aggregate, plant mix bituminous surfacing to the prepared and primed dam crest road, removing a 2-inch thickness of existing bituminous surfacing from the concrete surface of the spillway bridge, applying centerline and road shoulder striping to the dam crest road, repairing an approach warning sign, and re-coating four existing spillway bridge approach signs with an application of reflective paint. The work will be at Caballo Dam located on the Rio Grande which is approximately 20 miles south of Truth or Consequences, New Mexico, in Sierra County. A site visit is scheduled for July 19, 2001, at 10:30 a.m., meeting at the Elephant Butte Field Office at Truth or Consequences, New Mexico Contact Gary Davis for more details at (505) 248-5350.
