Description

This project is a Request for Proposal to remove one existing trail bridge and construct two new trail bridges. The proposed project includes the removal and disposal of the existing Squaw Creek Trail Bridge and the construction of a new trail bridge located on the Divide Ranger District, Rio Grande National Forest, Hinsdale county, Colorado. The second trail bridge to be constructed is the Navajo Trail Bridge located on the Mancos-Dolores Ranger District, San Juan National Forest, Dolores county, Colorado. The existing trail bridge (Squaw Creek) measures approximately 33 feet by 7 feet and is a wood deck with wood hand rails supported by native log stringers resting on log and rock crib abutments. The new bridges will consist of long span steel joists with treated timber decks and handrails constructed on new abutments. The Squaw Creek project site is located approximately 30 miles southwest of Creede, Colorado in Section 13, Township 40 North, Range 4 West, NMPM via Colorado Highway 149, FDR 520 and FDT 814 on the Divide Ranger District, Rio Grande National Forest. The Navajo Creek project site is located approximately 39 miles northeast of Dolores, Colorado in Section 15, Township 41 North, Range 11 West, NMPM via Colorado Highway 145, FDR 535 and FDT 635, within the boundary of the Lizard Head Wilderness on the Mancos-Dolores Ranger District, San Juan National Forest. The performance period for the proposed contract is 90 calendar days. The estimated price range is between $100,000 and $250,000. This will be a firm, fixed-price contract.
