Description
This notice is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotes are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. This procurement is being conducted under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). The salient characteristics of the Temescal Electron Beam Power Supply are: Item 1, Electron-Beam Power Supply, 1 each Electron-Beam power supply, 208/240 volts, 15-kW rating, for operation of one electron beam source. Power supply must be capable of being upgraded to operate three electron beam sources simultaneously. Voltage must be regulated by a tetrode tube resulting in a constant voltage output. Two output ranges are desired, 3-7 kV and 6-10 kV. Each output range must operate up to 1.5 amps. Output voltage and emission current must be regulated to 1%. Output voltage and emission current must be displayed. Manufacturer: Temescal, Model Number: 0611-7330-1 (OR EQUAL) Item 2, Electron-Beam Transformer, 1 Each Electron-Beam transformer kit with a high voltage cable that connects the transformer's primary to the power supply's gun interface chassis and the hardware to mount the transformer to the power supply module. Length of cable must be at least 20 feet. Manufacturer: Temescal, Model Number: 0040-7520-0 (OR EQUAL) Item 3, Variable Wave Form Sweep Controller, 1 Each Variable wave form sweep controller which utilizes a fully symmetrical coil current output, -4 to +4 amps. 0 to 99 Hertz sweep frequency. All sweep patterns are defined by pixels. Variable patterns are generated by user identified pixel location and dwell time. Memory shall hold up to 99 sweep programs. Must be able to step through programs manually. Manufacturer: Temescal, Model Number: 0040-9840-0 (OR EQUAL) Item 4, Turret Electron Beam Gun, 1 Each Turret electron beam gun with easily removed crucible cover and crucible. The easily removed crucible cover shall not require the water to be blown out of the gun when removed. VCO-style water fittings are desired. Design must include shielding of inactive pockets. A four lead focus coil is desired. A side drive is desired. Must be rated for at least 10 kW maximum power. The footprint (excluding water fittings and side drive) shall not exceed the following key dimensions: 11.5 inches x 7.8 inches. The height shall not exceed the following key dimension: 4.4 inches. A constant beam density shall be achieved by utilizing at least four pole pieces. Manufacturer: Temescal, Model Number: 0204-0284-0 (OR EQUAL) Item 6, Emitter Spare Parts, 1 Each Emitter spare parts for standard emitter, compatible with the standard emitter outlined in Item 5, above. Manufacturer: Temescal, Model Number: 0412-1561-1 (OR EQUAL) Item 7, Crucible Cover, 1 Each Crucible cover, for a four pocket crucible carousel, compatible with the turret source outlined in Item 4 above. Manufacturer: Temescal, Model Number: 0715-8143-0 (OR EQUAL) Item 8, Crucible, 1Each Four pocket crucible, each pocket 15 cc in volume, compatible with turret source outlined in Item 4 above. Manufacturer: Temescal, Model Number: 0715-8444-0 (OR EQUAL) Item 9, Turret Indexer Controller, 1 Each Turret indexer controller, consisting of a stepper motor-driven indexer to control the positioning of multipocket crucibles. Manual or remote pocket selection and either unidirectional or bidirectional indexing. Eight selectable rotation speeds. Compatible with the four pocket crucible and turret outlined in Items 8 and 4 above, respectively. Manufacturer: Temescal, Model Number: 0040-9380-3 (OR EQUAL) Item 10, Installation Kit, 1 Each Installation kit for feedthroughs, including two high voltage feedthroughs, one dual-pass water feedthrough, one octal feedthrough, and one ferrofluid-type rotary feedthrough, compatible with the turret outlined in Item 4, above. Manufacturer: Temescal, Model Number: 0503-0201-1 (OR EQUAL) **All items must be received at NASA Glenn Research Center by August 10, 2001 in order to meet upcoming program milestones. No partial shipments.** Note to Prospective Offerors: IF PROPOSING AN EQUAL ITEM, OFFEROR MUST INCLUDE ADEQUATE INFORMATION FOR THE GOVERNMENT TO EVALUATE WHETHER OR NOT THE ITEM MEETS THE STATED SPECIFICATIONS. The provisions and clauses in the RFQ are those in effect through FAC 97-25. The NAICS Code and the small business size standard for this procurement are 335999 and 500, respectively. The quoter shall state in their quotation their size status for this procurement. All qualified responsible business sources may submit a quotation which shall be considered by the agency. Delivery to Glenn Research Center is required within 28 days ARO. Delivery shall be FOB Destination. The DPAS rating for this procurement is DO-09.
