Description

The Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA) intends to award a sole source contract with David Reider Consulting, Cambridge, MA for continued expert services in the customized development of the DoDEA Technology Learning Community (TLC) program which, is in the late development stage. The purpose of the TLC course is for students to collaboratively explore advanced technologies and develop activities to teach those technologies to both peers and teachers in the school community. The goals of the course directly help students meet the Education Technology objectives of DoDEA, as well as those prescribed the New Standards, the SCANS report (Dept. of Labor), and ISTE, the organization representing the National Technology Education Standards. This program differs from other similar programs in that it emphasizes pedagogy and leadership skills rather than just technology repair skills. Program continuity is critical to the success of this project. Therefore, DoDEA requires a contractor with working knowledge and on-hands expertise of the TLC project to finalize course materials, assess and evaluate existing courses on student learning, conduct a summer TLC workshop and design and implement a new trainer program. This procurement is being conducted under Simplified Acquisition Procedures in accordance with FAR Part 13. This notice is not a request for competitive quotations (RFQ. No RFQ available.
