Description

This posting serves as notice of intent to award a sole-source contract to Fire-Trol Holdings, LLC for the purchase of nine used Micro Motion mass flow meters authorized under 41 U.S.C. 253(c)(1). This purchase has been justified as meeting the requirements of FAR 6.302-1(b)(1). Previous Forest Service national air tanker contracts required contractors to furnish the Micro Motion retardant meters. Contract provisions changed in these new 2001 national contracts to state that the Government will supply all Micro Motion retardant mass flow meters. At this time the Micro Motion model D-300-SS meter is the only meter approved to measure fire retardant for Forest Service contracted airtankers, as per SDTDC 9751-1206, April 1997.
