- Description
- The Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division, China Lake, CA, plans to procure on a full and open competitive basis two (2) geothermal temperature gradient test holes to be located at the Naval Air Weapons Station (NAWS), China Lake, CA. One test hole will be drilled to an estimated depth of 12,000 feet, and the other will be drilled to an estimated depth of 15,000 feet with options to extend the test hole to 20,000 feet. Data generated from the test holes will be used by the Navy's Geothermal Program Office in its resource potential investigations of the NAWS. The requirement consists of mobilization; site preparation; drilling, casing, cementing, and options for completing the hole in one of four different methods; demobilization; site restoration; providing test hole samples, reports, and geophysical logs; and a provision to cover conditions such as lost circulation, angle deviation, standby time, acts of God, test hole stimulation, geophysical logging, coring, and casing perforation. Blow-out prevention equipment will be required. Subcontractors used for logging will be required to submit copies of their Federal and State licenses. This project is estimated to take 300 days to complete, and the estimated starting date is September 2001. Proposals are being requested on a fixed price basis to include all mobilization, equipment, supplies and material, and labor and supervision. The estimated due date for proposals is 27 July 2001, however, the final due date will be stated in the solicitation when issued. Specifications will be provided in the solicitation.
