Description

Maintenance Dredging, Cape Henry Channel and York Spit Channel, Chesapeake Bay, Virginia. The project consists of dredging the Cape Henry Channel to a required depth of 51 feet with 1 foot of allowable overdepth and the York Spit Channel to a required depth of 50 feet with 1 foot of allowable overdepth. The contract will contain Optional Bid Items to dredge the Cape Henry Channel to a required depth of 52 feet with 1 foot of allowable overdepth and 53 feet with 1 foot of allowable overdepth. The Contractor shall place the dredged material from Cape Henry Channel in the Government-furnished Dam Neck Dredged Material Management Area and the dredged material from York Spit Channel in the Government-furnished Wolf Trap Dredged Material Management Area. The Cape Henry Channel Base Bid work, including allowable overdepth, involves dredging approximately 1,350,000 cubic yards of material. The Optional Bid work, including allowable overdepth, to dredge Cape Henry Channel to a required depth of 52 feet involves dredging an additional approximately 784,000 cubic yards of material and to dredge to a required depth of 53 feet involves dredging an additional approximately 807,000 cubic yards of material. The total possible dredging quantity for Cape Henry Channel, including the base amount and two optional amounts, is approximately 2,941,000 cubic yards. The work at York Spit Channel, including allowable overdepth, involves dredging approximately 1,314,000 cubic yards of material. Magnitude of construction is $1,000,000 to $5,000,000. Duration of the project is 300 calendar days for performance. This is UNRESTRICTED PROCUREMENT. Applicable SIC code is 1629, with a size standard of $27.5 million. The NAICS code is 23499.
