Description

The contractor shall fabricate with either metal, composite material or a combination of materials, the components necessary to build a detailed, full-scale mock-up of a generic anti-ship missile. We are looking to construct models at lower costs and in shorter time periods (90 days start to finish) than the traditional models made using only conventional shop techniques. The intended goal is to build a 3-dimensional model or model parts directly from a government provided computer-aided design (CAD) geometry file (AutoCAD dxf or iges formats). The contractor must be able to modify the 3-D geometry of the models external (and relevant internal) configuration using CAD tools to form the basis for fabricating mock-up components and any required manufacturing joints. The exact technique used only matters from a surface finish quality perspective. If not conductive metal, then also the model's ability to hold metallic paint. The model has to be both lightweight and structurally sound. All wings must be modeled with fold lines and control surfaces. Moving surfaces with associated gaps and externally visible actuator details have to be included. All fuselage details, including the inlet and exhaust, have to be accurately modeled.
