Robins Air Force Base, Georgia intends to solicit services to grind 720 F-15 stabilizer spindles, per year. Contract award will include the basic year with a one-year option for services. The spindle contains two-beryllium copper bushings that are manufactured IAW ASTMB 643-94 and pressed into the ends of the spindle. The bushings are to be ground to a concentricity of .0005 total indicator run out. The large diameter bushing must be ground to an outside diameter of 6.999 0 + .0000 or -- .0005. The small diameter bushing must be ground to an outside diameter of 5.0590 + .0000 or -- .0005. The bus hings are approximately .030 oversize to allow for finish grinding. Because of the irregular shape of the stabilizer spindl e, the O.D. Grinder required must have a minimum of 25 inches clearance between the center of the grinding chuck and machine bed with a travel capacity of 48 inches. The O.D. Grinder utilized for this service must have coolant flood. 2. The contractor must have the capability to pickup and deliver a minimum of 8 spindles at a time and be able to compl ete/deliver a minimum of 15 spindles per week. Pickup of spindles will be expected within 48 hours of notification. A signe d and dated control certification document is required for each spindle. Certification documents will be furnished at time of pick-up for each spindle.
