Description

A specialized Elemental Analyzer (EA) solely designed for use with a Finnigan MAT Delta Plus Isotope Ratio Mass Spectrometer (IRMS) is required. This EA shall be coupled to a Finnigan ConFlo III interface coupled to an IRMS to enable use of Continuous Flow Technology. It shall be used for controlled combustion of samples to their elements (C, H, N, O, and S) and then stream to the IRMS to give elemental composition and stable isotope ratios accurately. Environmental samples such as soils, dried plant material, filtrate from waters will be analyzed. This Elemental Analyzer will be currently manufactured with a proven history of production. This EA shall comply with Finnigan Delta Plus warranty requirements such that the EA will not void the Finnigan MAT warranty. The EA shall communicate with specialized Finnigan Software on the Delta Plus without losing capabilities of the mass spectrometer to communicate with existing HD Device and Equilibrator peripherals. Specifically, the EA shall utilize Finnigan Delta Plus ISODAT version 7.4 and loaded onto the IRMS Real 32 DOS-based system. Vendors will be required to submit documentation that the proposed equipment meets the specification included in the solicitation. Vendors will also be required to furnish the name of five customers that have had the proposed equipment in operation for at least six months. The solicitation will be available via e-mail only. Requests should be submitted to hennessey.mike@epa.gov. The solicitation will be available by 6/15/01. The due date for responses will be about 7/6/01. The actual due date will be specified in the solicitation.
