Description

THIS IS A SOLE SOURCE SOLICITATION to increase by 3 from 51 to 54 the number of systems covered during the option periods of contract for maintenance for a period of 12 months for all application modifications and software upgrades for Bio-Rad Fourier Transorm Infrared Analysis (FTIR), Advanced and Oil Analyzer Platforms (Bio-Rad P/N 099-1905). The level of repair shall include unlimited service calls, one annual preventive maintenance call and repair and/or replacement of all parts and/or components as needed. The level of coverage shall include all hardware, software, peripheral equipment and accessories (excluding computer, monitor, printer, sample cells and disposables). With 4 options to extend for additional 12 month periods. FOB: Destination. The equipment is located at various sites. It is the government's intent to solicit oral quotations using simplified acquisition procedures in FAR SUBPART 13 and issue a firm-fixed price modification by 26 July 2001. This is sole source to BIO-RAD LABORATORIES, INC., 237 PUTNAM AVE, CAMBRIDGE, MA 02139. They are the only source for the above since BIO-RAD LABORATORIES, INC.,has proprietary rights on the design and operational characteristics of their system and on some parts and does not authorize other companies to do maintenance on their system.
