- United Space Alliance, LLC (USA) as the Prime Contractor for the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) Space Flight Operations Contract (SFOC) is requesting information as to supplier capabilities in the areas of Risk Management, Risk Analysis, Probability Assessments, Safety and Environmental Management, and Quality Management. Any response to this RFI will not be considered as an offer by the supplier and will not result in any binding contract between USA and the supplier of the information. This request is made for purposes of planning to assess market conditions regarding availability, experience and competitiveness. Should your company wish to provide information regarding this request, the information provide below describes the level of capabilities and services requested. Services or Capabilities Required: -- Probabilistic Risk Assessment (PRA) -- Other Qualitative and Quantitative risk assessments that consider safety, schedule, cost, and technical concerns -- Specialized decision analysis methods -- Basic reliability engineering and system safety techniques, including Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), critical item evaluation, hazard control and verification evaluation and analysis, hazard analyses of Space Shuttle Program flight and ground hardware as required in NSTS 22254. -- Environmental testing in two fundamental areas of expertise: -- Indoor air quality using established protocols as recognized by ACGIH -- Phase I, II, and III environmental assessments per ASTM Standards -- Developing and implementing integrated safety and quality systems to include standardized methods, tools and processes Expertise: -- Multi-year experience with the above described capabilities -- Experienced full time staff -- NASA, DOD or Space Shuttle Program Experience is highly desirable Your response should provide sufficient information for assessing you company s capabilities and past experience in risk management. In order to facilitate USA in determining your company s qualification, the format shown below is suggested for your consideration. In addition to this format, you are encouraged to submit any additional data and or brochures that substantiate your expertise and experience in this area. 1. Years of Experience in Risk Management and Detailed Description of Services Provided 2. Industry/Industries Supported 3. Current and/or Past RM Contracts/Subcontracts (Government and Commercial) 4. Current Staff size Providing Risk Management Services 5. Current resumes of Risk Management staff (examples of each labor classification in this area) 6. Business Size Classification 7. RM Labor rate by Labor Classification You are requested to submit your response to this RFI no later than July 6, 2001. Lack of any response by your company will be interpreted as having no interest in any potential future subcontracting opportunities within USA in the area of Risk Management.
